A small group, a warehouse and a plotter running.
E20Progetti was started in Biella in 1992 by Fabrizio Lava. We have done the same thing ever since, in endlessly different ways: take a body of content — a collection, an archive, a region, an anniversary — and make it something you can walk through.
How we work
We start with the floor plan. Before choosing a typeface or a shade of grey we look at where the windows are, what the panel weighs, which door the truck comes through. A display that cannot be installed is not a design, it is a render.
Then the content. We have published more than two hundred titles and run the picture research for most of the exhibitions we have installed: we know how to read an archive, and we know when a caption is twice as long as it needs to be.
Production stays in-house. The plotter, the laminator, the assembly bench and the two vans are ours. When a client moves the opening by ten days, we do not have to ask anyone’s permission.
The group
We are small and stable: creative direction, production management, designers, print and installation, and the person who talks to clients. Around us, a network of people we have worked with for years.
